BeGreen, a division of Green Mountain Energy
Company has donated renewable energy credits (RECs)
to offset all of the electricity generated from
the 2009 Green Living Expo. The 2009 Green
Living Expo’s electricity is carbon neutral,
starting with move in on Wednesday to move out
on Sunday. By offsetting the electricity for
the event, over 31,300 lbs. of CO 2
will be avoided. To put this in perspective,
this has the same environmental impact as not
driving your car over 34,800 miles or the annual
forest sequestration of more than 1,880 trees.
Furthermore, by offsetting the electricity for
this expo, it is equivalent to recycling more
than 77,250 aluminum cans or recycling over
12,550 pounds of newspaper.
Show Technology encourages all Exhibitors and
Attendees of the Austin Green Living Expo to
also offset their Carbon Footprint to assist us
in making this event carbon neutral.
