The Austin Convention Center will “turn green” on the weekend of March 9-11, 2007 with the Austin Green Living & Home Products Expo.

The Green Living & Home Products Expo is the only home & garden show specifically designed to bring together consumers and providers of Green Building technologies, organic gardening, alternative & flex fuel vehicles, and natural & organic home and personal care products. In addition to hundreds of exhibitors featuring organic products and other “green living” items for the home and garden.

·       EH Systems House Feature:

EH Systems, LLC is a leading manufacture of Structural insulated panels (SIPs). Last year, EH Systems’ proof of concept construction company, Energy Homes, won “Best in Show” in the 2006 Austin Green Living Show. 

EHS is setting a new pace for energy efficiency and green building practices.

·       Central Texas PolySteel House Feature:

Central Texas PolySteel House Feature: Building an energy efficient structure from the ground up, the Central Texas PolySteel's feature house will be built using American PolySteel's 3000 series waffle grid Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs). 
The door and window openings will use V-Buck, a non-wood systems application and finished out using Andersen Windows.  The Green Machine, a heating and cooling system designed by Allied Energy systems from Austin, TX, will be featured as the system's approach to efficient heating and cooling. Tickets are sold onsite and only during show   hours...There are no advanced ticket sales for this show.

Parking
Convention Center Parking Garage: 10-story building has 1,000-spaces, located 2 blocks west of the Center, at 201 East 2nd Street. Entrances are on Brazos and San Jacinto streets.

Additional Parking:
• Planned new parking garage at Red River and 5th Street: 600 spaces.

The majority of available green products have one or more of the following health and/or environmental attributes:

They promote good indoor air quality
They are durable, and have low maintenance requirements
They incorporate recycled content
They have been salvaged from existing or demolished buildings for reuse
They are made using natural and/or renewable resources
They have low "embodied energy"
They do not contain CFCs, HCFCs or other ozone depleting substances
They do not contain highly toxic compounds, and their production does not result in highly toxic by-products
They are obtained from local resources and manufacturers
For wood or bio-based products, they employ "Sustainable Harvesting" practices
They can be easily reused
They can be readily recycled
